Kielitieteen hakuteos, joka sisältää mm. artikkeleita, sanaston, viiteluettelon, tietoja alan tutkijoista sekä luettelon maailman kielistä.

Käyttäjät

Aineistoa saavat käyttää sopimukseen osallistuvan organisaation opiskelijat, tutkijat ja muu henkilökunta, asianomaisen organisaation kirjaston paikallisasiakkaat, sekä Auktorisoituja käyttäjiä ovat tilaajaorganisaation koko- ja osa-aikaiset opiskelijat, henkilökunta, tutkijat, organisaation eläkkeellä oleva henkilökunta ja tutkijat sekä kirjaston paikallisasiakkaat. Paikallisasiakkailla on oikeus käyttää aineistoa vain tilaajaorganisaation fyysisissä tiloissa, mutta ei etäkäyttönä.

Sallittu käyttö Mitä saa tehdä: Organisaatiot ja niiden auktorisoidut käyttäjät saavat:

- selailla, tehdä hakuja, selailla, tulostaa esittää aineistoa näyttöruudulletoiselle auktorisoidulle käyttäjälle
- kohtuullisessa määrin tulostaa, ottaa valokopioita ja tallentaa tilapäisesti (download) artikkeleitasähköisesti auktorisoidun käyttäjän omaan käyttöön yksittäisiä osia, abstrakteja, tietueita, lukuja tai osia kappaleista tai luvuista (otteet)
- linkittää aineistoja organisaation www-sivuille
- linkittää ja tallentaa aineistoja kurssipaketteihinyksittäisiä ennustettuja synteesireittejä mukaan lukien generoidut yksittäiset ennustetut reaktiovaiheet. Opettajat voivat käyttää yksittäisiä osia aineistosta opetustilanteissa, mutta esityksiä ei saa jakaa auktorisoiduille käyttäjille.
- viedä linkkejä, ladattuja artikkeleita, abstrakteja ja kirjojen lukuja sähköisiin kurssipaketteihin, edellyttäen että aineistossa on riittävät lähdeviitteet (lähde, nimeke, kirjoittaja, kustantaja). Lähdeviitteitä on muutettava Elsevierin pyynnöstä. Käyttö kurssipaketeissa on sallittu kursseilla joista saa opintopisteitä. Kustantajalta on pyydettävä erikseen lupa mikäli aineistoja halutaan käyttää muissa kurssipaketeissa. Aineistoja voidaan käyttää organisaation näkövammaisille lukemisesteisille tarkoitetuissa kurssipaketeissa.
Auktorisoidut käyttäjät voivat myös:
- lähettää otteita muille auktorisoiduille käyttäjille sekä muille kollegoille tieteelliseen tai tutkimuskäyttöön
- tulostaa ja tallentaa henkilökohtaiseen käyttöön (ml. opetuksessa käytetyt esitykset) kohtuullisessa määrin artikkeleita
Organisaatiot voivat käyttää aineistoa (ml. tavaramerkit, kuvakaappaukset, logot) sisäisessä koulutuksessa ja markkinoinnissa. Kirjastohenkilöstö voi tallentaa organisaation internet ja intranet-sivuille koulutus- ja markkinointitarkoituksiin kohtuullisessä määrin kuvakaappauksiakäyttää kaavioita, kuvia ja taulukoita akateemisiin tehtäviin, portfolioihin, opinnäytetöihin ja väitöskirjoihin sekä julkaisuihin. Jokaisessa julkaisussa on oltava asianmukaiset tiedot lähteestä, nimekkeestä ja tekijänoikeuksien omistajasta.
- tarjota aineisto käyttäjille Braillen, äänisyntetisaattoreiden ja vastaavien kautta.

Kielletty käyttö Mitä ei

saa tehdä:
- -lyhentää, muokata, kääntää tai luoda aineistoon pohjautuvia johdannaistuotteita ilman kustantajan lupaa
- poistaa tai muuttaa tekijänoikeusmerkintöjä
- kopioida, säilyttää tai toimittaa aineistoa edelleen systemaattisesti tai huomattavia määriä
Luvaton aineiston käyttö voi johtaa siihen, että organisaatiolta evätään välittömästi pääsy aineistoon.
Tilaavan organisaation on rajattava aineiston käyttö vain auktorisoiduille käyttäjille ja tiedotettava käyttäjille aineiston käyttöehdoista sekä kohtuuden rajoissa huolehdittava siitä että käyttöehtoja noudatetaan. Organisaation on välittömästi ilmoitettava kustantajalle luvattomasta käytöstä ja ryhdyttävä toimiin luvattoman käytön estämiseksi. johdannaisteoksia, jotka perustuvat tilattuun aineistoon, paitsi siinä määrin kuin se on tarpeen, että auktorisoitu käyttäjä voi lukea aineistoa tietokoneen näytöllä
- poistaa, peittää tai muokata millään tavalla tekijänoikeusilmoituksia, muita huomautuksia tai vastuuvapauslausekkeita sellaisina kuin ne näkyvät aineistossa
- käyttää robotteja tai muita automaattisia latausohjelmia, algoritmeja tai laitteita aineistojen jatkuvaan ja automaattiseen etsimiseen, kokoamiseen, poimimiseen, linkittämiseen, indeksointiin tai toiminnan häiritsemiseen
- toistaa, säilyttää tai jakaa aineistoa huomattavia määriä tai järjestelmällisesti tai julkaista huomattavia määriä tai järjestelmällisesti yksittäisiä kohteita aineistosta sosiaalisissa verkoissa
- tietoisesti jakaa aineistoja tai tiedonhaun tuloksia muulle kilpailevalle tuotteelle, jonka tilaaja (mukaan lukien kaikki tilaajan emo- tai tytäryhtiöt) omistaa tai lisensoi.

Aineiston etäkäyttö on mahdollista kirjoittautumalla oman organisaation suojattuun verkkoon ja käyttämällä palvelua sitä kautta.

Includes e.g. glossary definitions, references, list of commonly used abbreviations, list of languages of the world and approximately 700 biographical entries.

Authorised users

Authorised users are Authorized Users are the full-time and part-time students, faculty, librarians, other staff, researchers and independent contractors or are employed by independent contractors, retired faculty staff , retired librarians and retired researchers of the Institutions subscribing to Licensed Products (onsite or remote access) and individuals using computer terminals within the library facilities or other publicly accessible facilities at of the Institutions (“walk in users”).

Permitted use Institutions and its Authorised users may

- access, search, browse, view and browse the licensed productsdisplay to other Authorized Users
- print and download , photocopy, download, electronically save and store for the exclusive use of such Authorized User a reasonable amount of articles, individual items and abstracts, records or parts of chapers from the Licensed Products ("Excerpts")
- incorporate links to excerpts on the Institutions' intranet and internet web sites
- incorporate links to excerpts and electronically save excerpts in electronic coursepacks and incorporate printed excerpts in printed coursepacks
Use in coursepacks is allowed in connection to those courses which are offered by the Institutions for academic credit. Used excerpts shall carry appropriate acknowledgement of the source. Use in connection with non-credit courses needs permission from Elsevier. Coursepacks in nonelectronic, non-print perceptible form (e.g. Braille) may be offered for visually impaired.
Authorised users may
- provide printed or electronic copies of excepts to other authorised users or to third , chapters, or all predicted synthesis routes including individual predicted reaction steps generated by the Reaxys and/or Reaxys Academic Edition from the Subscribed Products (“Excerpts”) for the exclusive use of such Authorized User. This exclusive use will include the use by teaching staff of such Excerpts in electronic presentations and the right to present such electronic presentations during lectures for credited courses but will explicitly exclude the provision of copies of such presentations and/or Excerpts to Authorized Users.
- incorporate both links and downloaded articles, abstracts and book chapters in electronic coursepacks, reserves and course management systems and instructor websites and printed articles, abstracts and book chapters in printed coursepacks, provided that the downloaded and printed content shall carry appropriate acknowledgement of the source, title, author and publisher and that the appearance of such links and/or statements accompanying such links shall be changed as reasonably requested by Elsevier and the Institutions obtain the prior written consent of Elsevier for use in connection with any non-credit courses; Institutions and its Authorized Users may in addition offer coursepacks in non-electronic, non-print perceptible form, such as audio or Braille, to Authorized Users who are reading impaired.
- provide print or electronic copies (including via email) of Excerpts from the Subscribed Products to other Authorized Users and to third-party colleagues for their scholarly or research use;
- print and electronically save for personal use a reasonable amount of articles, abstracts, records or parts of chapters from the licensed products (incl. use by teaching staff in electronic presentations during lectures for credited courses)
Institutions will be entitled to promote and provide training on the licensed products to authorised users. Librarians are allowed to electronically save and post for training and promotional purposes on Institutions' intranet or internet web site a reasonable number of screenshots, including trademarks and logos. incorporate charts, images and tables generated by the Authorized User from the records in the Subscribed Products online service in academic works (assignments, portfolios, theses and dissertations) and publications. Each item shall carry appropriate acknowledgement of the source, listing title and copyright owner;
- use Braille displays, voice synthesizers and other devices to enable the use of the Subscribed Products

Prohibited use

Institutions and its authorised users may not
- abridge, modify, translate or create any derivated derivative work based on the licensed products without Elsevier's permissionthe Subscribed Products, except to the extent necessary to make them perceptible on a computer screen to Authorized Users
- remove, obscure or modify in any way any copyright notices, other notices or disclaimers as they appear in the licensed products
- substancially the Subscribed Products
-use any robots, spiders, crawlers or other automated downloading programs, algorithms or devices to continuously and automatically search, scrape, extract, deep link, index or disrupt the working of the Subscribed Products
-substantially or systematically reproduce, retain or redistribute the licensed products
Unauthorised use of the licensed products may lead to suspension of access to the licensed products.
Institutions shall use reasonable efforts to:
- ensure that access to and use of the licensed products is limited to authorised users and that all authorised users are notified of and comply with the usage restrictions
- ensure that any passwords or credentials used to access the licensed products are issued only to authorised users and that neither the institutions or authorised users divulge any passwords or credentials to any third party
- and immediately upon becoming aware of any unauthorised use inform Elsevier and take appropriate steps to ensure that such activity ceases and to prevent any recurrenceSubscribed Products or substantially or systematically post individual items from the Subscribed Products on social networking sites
- use, or authorize or permit any third party to use the Subscribed Products to build, modify, or enhance a competitive product or service owned or licensed by the Subscriber (including any affiliate, parent or subsidiary of the Subscriber) or any third party
- knowingly share any data or search results gained from use of the Subscribed Products with a competitive product or service owned or licensed by the Subscriber (including any affiliate, parent or subsidiary of the Subscriber).
