Description |
A digital library of works from STC I (Pollard & Redgrave), STC II (Wing), and the Thomason Tracts. In total, this database provides full-text access to over 125,000 individual titles published in English between 1473 and 1700.
A selection of texts (when completed 25000) available as searchable full text. |
Authorised users |
The Licensed Material can be used by following members of the subscribing organisation:
a) Authorised Users (domiciled in Finland):
- Academic organizations and other schools: Current members of the faculty, researchers, members of the staff (whether on a permanent, temporary, contract or visiting basis) and students.
- Public libraries: Current members of the staff and library card holders.
- Other member organization of the Consortium: Current members of the research team or other staff of the organization (whether on a permanent, temporary, contract or visiting basis).
b) Walk-in Users who are permitted to access the Licensed Material from computer terminals within the Library Premises. |
Permitted use |
The Licensee, Authorised Users and Walk-in Users may use the Licensed Material solely for the purpose of research and education, but not for Commercial Use.
Authorised and Walk-in Users may:
- Search, view, retrieve and display the Licensed Material
- Print off single copies of reasonable portions of the Licensed Material.
- Download and electronically save reasonable portions of the Licensed Material.
- Use reasonable excerpts from the Licensed Material for scientific and educational purpose, to demonstrate or comment a case.
- Use, with appropriate credit, figures, tables and brief excerpts from the Licensed Material in their own scientific and scholarly work.
Authorised Users may:
- Use a reasonable portion of the Licensed Material in preparation of Course Packs or other educational materials.
- Transmit to a third party colleague in print or electronically, minimal portions of the Licensed Material for research or educational use, but never for Commercial Use.
- Download or print trademarks and logos from the Licensed Material for the purpose of internal marketing or testing or for training Authorised and Walk-in Users.
The Licensee may put links to the Licensed Material from their own Secure Network. |
Prohibited use |
Neither the Licensee nor Authorised Users or Walk-in Users may:
- Publish or sell parts of the Licensed Material, or in any other way violate the rights of ProQuest.
- Remove or alter the authors' names or the Publisher's copyright notices or other means of identification or disclaimers as they appear in the Licensed Material.
- Systematically make prints or electronic copies of multiple extracts of the Licensed Material for any purpose save as provided in this agreement.
- Mount or distribute any part of the Licensed Material on any electronic network, including the Internet and the World Wide Web, other than the Secure Network, save as provided in this Agreement.
Downloading of all or parts of the Licensed Material in a systematic or regular manner so as to create a collection of materials comprising all or part of the Licensed Material is strictly prohibited.
ProQuest's explicit written permission must be obtained in order to:
- Use the whole or any part of the Licensed Material for any Commercial Use.
- Systematically distribute the whole or any part of the Licensed Material to anyone other than Authorised Users.
- Publish, distribute or make available the Licensed Material, works based on the Licensed Material or works which combine them with any other material, save as provided in this Agreement.
- Alter, abridge, adapt or modify the Licensed Material, except to the extent necessary to make them perceptible on a computer screen to Authorised and Walk-in Users. No alteration of the words or their order is permitted. |

Authorised users are allowed remote access to the Licensed Material by logging into the secure network of a Consortium member organization. |
