The Agent Metadata Service is responsible for

  • providing instructions and guidance for the description of agents (persons, families and corporate bodies). The service is provided primarily to libraries participating in the co-production of agent metadata.
  • promoting high quality description of agents relevant to Finnish materials.
  • coordinating the cooperation with libraries and other partners in order to create consistent agent metadata.
  • establishing a cooperation network between participating libraries.
  • provising instructions on the use of name identifiers, e.g. ISNI.

  • RDA (Resource Description and Access)

National collaboration

The first partner to join the co-production of agent metadata was the Jyväskylä University Library (Open Science Centre – University of Jyväskylä) in October 2015. In future, the cooperation network will continue to grow by bringing together partners representing different university and legal deposit libraries.
