Aineistokuvaus

Palvelu sisältää englanninkielistä kirjallisuutta vuosilta 1470-1700, yhteensä n. 125 000 dokumenttia. Aineisto kattaa Englannissa, Irlannissa, Skotlannissa, Walesissa ja englanninkielisessä Pohjois-Amerikassa ao. ajankohtana julkaistun kirjallisuuden.

Käyttäjät

Aineiston käyttöön ovat oikeutettuja sopimukseen osallisten organisaatioiden
a) auktorisoidut käyttäjät:
- akateemiset organisaatiot (yliopistot, ammattikorkeakoulut): organisaation tutkijat ja muu henkilökunta (pysyvä, tilapäinen, sopimuspohjainen tai vierailija) ja opiskelijat
- yleiset kirjastot: kirjaston henkilökunta ja kirjastokortin haltijat
- muut konsortion jäsenorganisaatiot: organisaation tutkijat ja muu henkilökunta (pysyvä, tilapäinen, sopimuspohjainen tai vierailija). Kaikkien auktorisoitujen käyttäjien tulee asua vakituisesti Suomessa.
b) kirjastojen paikallisasiakkaat.

Sallittu käyttö

Sopimukseen osallinen organisaatio ja sen auktorisoidut käyttäjät ja kirjastojen paikallisasiakkaat voivat käyttää aineistoa vain tutkimus-, koulutus- ja muuhun ei-kaupalliseen tarkoitukseen.

Aineistoa voi
- selata ja tehdä tiedonhakuja
- tulostaa kohtuullisia määriä
- ladata ja tallentaa kohtuullisia määriä tiedostoon
- käyttää otteita aineistosta opetus-, tieteelliseen ja tutkimustarkoituksiin kohtuullisessa määrin, kun tarkoituksena on käyttää aineistoa esimerkin omaisesti kuvaamaan, selittämään ja kommentoimaan asiaa
- kohtuullisessa määrin käyttää aineistoon sisältyviä kuvia, taulukoita ja lyhyitä lainauksia omissa tieteellisissä töissä tai opinnäytteissä.

Auktorisoidut käyttäjät saavat
- käyttää kohtuullisia määriä aineistoa kurssipakettien tai muun koulutusaineiston laatimiseen
- antaa sopimuksen piiriin kuulumattomalle kollegalle tulosteena tai elektronisesti vähäisiä määriä aineistosta henkilökohtaista käyttöä varten tai opetus- ja tutkimustarkoitukseen, mutta ei koskaan jälleenmyyntiä varten
- ladata tai tulostaa aineistoon liittyviä tuotemerkkejä ja logoja sisäistä markkinointia ja testausta sekä auktorisoitujen käyttäjien ja paikallisasiakkaiden koulutusta varten.

Sopimukseen osallinen organisaatio saa tehdä aineistoon linkkejä omilta suojatuilta verkkosivuiltaan.

Kielletty käyttö

Mitä ei saa tehdä:

Sopimukseen osallinen organisaatio tai sen auktorisoitu käyttäjä tai paikalliskäyttäjä ei saa
- julkaista, nauhoittaa tai myydä osaa aineistosta tai loukata muutoin ProQuestin oikeuksia
- poistaa tai muuttaa aineistossa olevia tekijöiden nimiä tai kustantajan tekijänoikeusmerkintöjä tai muita tunnistetietoja tai kieltoja
- järjestelmällisesti tulostaa tai kopioida elektronisesti laajoja otteita aineistosta muihin kuin edellä mainittuihin tarkoituksiin; aineiston järjestelmällinen tai toistuva tulostaminen tai lataaminen tiedostoon tarkoituksena luoda kokoelma, joka kattaa koko aineiston tai osia siitä, on ehdottomasti kielletty!
- tarjota aineistoa minkään muun kuin suojatun verkon kautta.

Palvelun tarjoajan kirjallinen lupa tarvitaan, jos halutaan
- käyttää osaa tai koko aineistoa minkäänlaiseen kaupalliseen tarkoitukseen
- järjestelmällisesti jakaa osia tai koko aineisto muille kuin auktorisoiduille käyttäjille
- julkaista, jakaa tai tarjota käyttöön lisensioitua aineistoa tai siihen perustuvia aineistoja tai töitä, joiden osana on käytetty lisensioitua aineistoa muuten kuin mitä edellä on mainittu
- muuttaa tai muokata aineistoa muutoin kuin mitä sen tarjoaminen auktorisoiduille käyttäjille ja kirjaston paikallisasiakkaille näyttöruudulta edellyttää. Aineiston sisältämien sanojen tai niiden järjestyksen muuttaminen ei ole sallittua.

Description

A digital library of works from STC I (Pollard & Redgrave), STC II (Wing), and the Thomason Tracts. In total, this database provides full-text access to over 125,000 individual titles published in English between 1473 and 1700.

A selection of texts (when completed 25000) available as searchable full text.

Authorised users

The Licensed Material can be used by following members of the subscribing organisation:

a) Authorised Users (domiciled in Finland):
- Academic organizations and other schools: Current members of the faculty, researchers, members of the staff (whether on a permanent, temporary, contract or visiting basis) and students.
- Public libraries: Current members of the staff and library card holders.
- Other member organization of the Consortium: Current members of the research team or other staff of the organization (whether on a permanent, temporary, contract or visiting basis).

b) Walk-in Users who are permitted to access the Licensed Material from computer terminals within the Library Premises.

Permitted use

The Licensee, Authorised Users and Walk-in Users may use the Licensed Material solely for the purpose of research and education, but not for Commercial Use.

Authorised and Walk-in Users may:
- Search, view, retrieve and display the Licensed Material
- Print off single copies of reasonable portions of the Licensed Material.
- Download and electronically save reasonable portions of the Licensed Material.
- Use reasonable excerpts from the Licensed Material for scientific and educational purpose, to demonstrate or comment a case.
- Use, with appropriate credit, figures, tables and brief excerpts from the Licensed Material in their own scientific and scholarly work.

Authorised Users may:
- Use a reasonable portion of the Licensed Material in preparation of Course Packs or other educational materials.
- Transmit to a third party colleague in print or electronically, minimal portions of the Licensed Material for research or educational use, but never for Commercial Use.
- Download or print trademarks and logos from the Licensed Material for the purpose of internal marketing or testing or for training Authorised and Walk-in Users.

The Licensee may put links to the Licensed Material from their own Secure Network.

Prohibited use

Neither the Licensee nor Authorised Users or Walk-in Users may:
- Publish or sell parts of the Licensed Material, or in any other way violate the rights of ProQuest.
- Remove or alter the authors' names or the Publisher's copyright notices or other means of identification or disclaimers as they appear in the Licensed Material.
- Systematically make prints or electronic copies of multiple extracts of the Licensed Material for any purpose save as provided in this agreement.
- Mount or distribute any part of the Licensed Material on any electronic network, including the Internet and the World Wide Web, other than the Secure Network, save as provided in this Agreement.

Downloading of all or parts of the Licensed Material in a systematic or regular manner so as to create a collection of materials comprising all or part of the Licensed Material is strictly prohibited.

ProQuest's explicit written permission must be obtained in order to:
- Use the whole or any part of the Licensed Material for any Commercial Use.
- Systematically distribute the whole or any part of the Licensed Material to anyone other than Authorised Users.
- Publish, distribute or make available the Licensed Material, works based on the Licensed Material or works which combine them with any other material, save as provided in this Agreement.
- Alter, abridge, adapt or modify the Licensed Material, except to the extent necessary to make them perceptible on a computer screen to Authorised and Walk-in Users. No alteration of the words or their order is permitted.

Remote access

Authorised users are allowed remote access to the Licensed Material by logging into the secure network of a Consortium member organization.
