The cataloguing standard service of the National Library of Finland (NLF) supports Finnish libraries in applying the international standards of cataloguing. The support consists of translations in Finnish, national guidelines, workflows and other instructions. NLF also organizes training sessions.

In addition to cataloguing rules, NLF coordinates the use of the concept models (LRM) and the international cataloguing principals (ICP), and produces mappings and alignment between the most used datamodels.

The cataloguing standard service co-operates actively nationally and internationally at the key cataloguing and metadata networks.
